The Problem

Hout Bay is a city located near Cape Town in South Africa. Hout Bay is separated into several neighbourhoods and not all are as well off as the others. Some of the people in Hout Bay live in poverty, such poverty that many girls and young women do not have the means to buy sanitary products. We don’t believe that that is fair at all. No one should be forced to stay home from school because they do not have the means to deal with something as natural as their period. A pack of pads costs around R25, equivalent to 12.5 DKK. This might not sound like much but for these women it is, and for them to go on to have brighter futures and have the chance to compete academically with other students, who have not been similarly challenged, they need assistance

Problemet
